and dedicated to the thoughtful preservation of this extraordinary breed.

Balvenie Bearded Collies was established with the mentorship of Marsha Rienzo (Romar Bearded Collies, Brantford, Ontario). Her years of commitment to the breed have significantly shaped our program. In 2019, we officially took over from Marsha.  We are honoured to uphold her legacy with integrity, and a deep respect for the Bearded Collie standard.

At Balvenie Bearded Collies, our focus is clear: health, temperament, and type. Every breeding decision is made with the Bearded Collie’s hallmark qualities in mind ~ health, correct structure, sound movement, joyful expression, and the bright, resilient temperament that makes the breed so beloved both in the ring and in the home.

 

Our dogs are titled in both conformation and sport/performance, reflecting our commitment to producing Bearded Collies who are as capable and willing as they are beautiful. Our Beardies are health tested, with results publicly available through the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) to ensure transparency and accountability.

As a responsible, ethical preservation breeder, we:

• Breed selectively and intentionally

• Raise puppies in a carefully enriched home environment

• Prioritize early socialization, through ENS, ESI & Puppy Culture

• Provide lifetime support to our puppy families

• Remain actively involved in the breed community​

Bearded Collies are spirited, intelligent, and deeply devoted companions. Our goal is to produce dogs who thrive ~ whether in the show ring, performance venues, or as cherished family members.
